About me

I am a Sworn Translator in the English>Spanish (Latin America) and Spanish>English (USA) language paris with over nine years of experience in my field of work.

Over the years I have provided my translation and proofreading services to corporations, organizations, translation agencies and individuals in Canada, USA, Ireland, France, Spain, Czechoslovakia, Australia, and various countries of the Latin American region, in different areas of specialization.

Profesionalmism, precision and punctuality are guaranteed.  Your texts will read as fluently as if they had been originally written in the target language and my work will be invisible.

Qualifications

I work with a PC (MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and experienced in the use of CAT Tools such as SDLX, Trados, Transit and WordFast.

Also, I have experience as a Project Manager and have been in charge of managing large volume translation projects, for personal clients, that have involved a maximum of 10 translators and 4 proofreaders.

Education

2004- B.A. in Literature - Universidad del Valle - Guatemala

1996- Sworn Translator's Degree (English and Spanish languages)- Ministry of Education, Guatemala

1995- Dipoloma in Translation (English and Spanish languages). Instituto Femenino de Estudios Superiores, Guatemala.

1986-1990-  Completed four years of studies in Journalism (2 in Miami, Florida and 2 in Guatemala)

1986- Degree as an Executive Bilingual Secretary - Colegio Gibbs, Guatemala

Experience

Over nine years of experience as a translator and proofreader in the En>Sp (Latin America) and Sp>En (USA) language pairs. 

Four years of experience teaching translation at Escuela Profesional de Traducción e Interpretación (EPTI), Guatemala, where I taught translation in the areas of journalism, literature, technical, environment, human development and others.

Experience as a Journalist.
